BCH Thoughts from Natasha Thomas and Adenike Webb."

Goodness knows what’s going on at Twitter these days, so we thought now's as good a time as any to create a newsletter and start back backing up some of our core content! We'll be starting by creating an archive of our “Mega-Thread” from that space, a collection of all our key themes and insights shared over the years, just in case, but also for accessibility & edit-ability purposes! Twitter can be overwhelming in general, AND we’re proud of all we’ve shared over there, so why not make it easier to access in alternative formats (and easier to update any outdated info while we’re at it)!

So without further ado, here we go:

The #BlackCreativeHealing Mega-Thread

Everything is connected. Each conversation is a collaboration in progress. Every moment that the most marginalized among us is centered, we ALL get a little more free. THIS is the work of #BlackCreativeHealing.

Welcome new followers! Excited to see this account grow

#BlackCreativeHealing is facilitated by music therapists Natasha Thomas and Adenike Webb, tho Natasha is the most regular Tweeter between the 2 of us

How to describe this account & our work? Well...

#BlackCreativeHealing is a space for radical conversation, mindful collaboration, & wholistic* visioning centering Black communities. *credit & appreciation to Indigenous scholar Renee Linklater for the term “wholistic,” which we use here to acknowledge our inherent wholeness...

...as peoples of the African Diaspora; we recognize & celebrate the innovation, resilience & beauty in Blackness, forever mindful that our diasporatization is only part of our history. We welcome radical imagination & consideration of the unique strengths/needs we all bring...

...at any given moment; we are a tapestry of cultures (plural!). We were healing - and continue to heal - ourselves and our communities, not just through the arts, but through engagement with creativity itself, in whatever forms we find it.

Our podcast
